Captain America: Civil War - 10 MCU-Shattering Outcomes That Fans Want To See

5. The Vision Betrays Tony

Another way in which Civil War could shatter our perceptions of the MCU is through The Vision. He€™s effectively Tony Stark€™s creation, but that doesn€™t mean the two have to agree on everything. It€™s been suggested that The Vision could betray Tony at some point in the film, making him the latest Stark invention to turn against the man himself. The exact whys and wherefores of this rumoured plot-point are unknown currently. Maybe The Vision's change of allegiance could stem from the government's handling of him. We know the American government of the MCU is pretty shady, after all, so perhaps they will try to push The Vision into some dodgy projects or attempt to dissect him for scientific purposes. Whatever the reason, The Vision changing teams would be a major blow for Tony. After all, The Vision was the only good thing that Tony got out of the catastrophic events of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, so taking that away from him could really push him to the edge. Creating a murder bot that tried to wipe out mankind was bad enough, but a personal betrayal from The Vision could cut Stark deeply on an emotional level. Breaking The Vision away from Tony during Civil War could work out nicely for future films, as well. Freeing up Paul Betanny€™s purple-faced, vibranium-laced android would make him a less predictable and more independent entity. This could be the next step towards The Vision getting his own solo movie, which could in turn lead to the rumoured romantic subplot between him and Scarlet Witch becoming a reality.
