Captain America: Civil War - 10 Ways It’s Already Torn Up The Comics

2. War Machine Will Suffer Instead Of Goliath

The death of Goliath, one of Cap's allies, at the hands of a clone of Thor was one of the most shocking moments in the Civi War story, showing how Tony and his allies had gone too far and tampered with forces they didn't understand in their moral crusade. Obviously that isn't going to happen in the MCU given how Goliath hasn't been introduced and a clone of Thor is far too outlandish a concept. Instead what we do see is a grief-stricken Tony cradling a prone War Machine. It's unlikely that Marvel Studios would give away such a huge twist as the death of a major character like War Machine, but they could be using his severe injury as a way to skew the original story. If one of Captain America's team of super-powered rebels was responsible for placing Iron Man's best friend at death's door then it would just as easily show that our heroes aren't always in the right, spurring Tony on for a more personal final battle
