8. The Captain America/Crossbones Fight In Africa

The film will seemingly open with a chase and battle sequence in Lagos, Nigeria, which is also how the trailers shown at both D23 and AsiaPop opened, offering high octane hints of what fans are in for. That sequence will apparently see Crossbones and his group of goons attacking Cap's team in a marketplace, with the debut of Redwing (christened "amazing" by more than one person who has seen the footage) and the revelation that Crossbones seems to have purpose built anti-Cap weaponry. He was seen in the footage throwing a magnetic grenade at Cap's shield to incapacitate his chief defence before attacking. Cap duly throws the shield into the air, saving the Lagos locals packed into the market (as captured in the set image above). He's ultimately (and not surprisingly) able to beat Crossbones into submission, despite his new enhancements. So what else will happen in Africa? Rumour has it this sequence could be the setting for Scarlet Witch's "breakdown" that results in the collateral damage that ultimately forces through the Accords legislation. And it could be where Cap learns that Black Panther is mighty keen to find (and destroy) The Winter Soldier after the murder of his father, prompting the chase to find him.
