Captain America: Civil War - 7 Theories On How Bucky Will Be Key

3. Bucky Will Be The One To Shoot Cap

If you've read the comic arc on which Civil War is based on you'll probably have an inkling on how Civil War will end, with the villainous Crossbones assassinating our patriotic hero after he surrenders. It's brutal, it's shocking and it was eventually retconned with some mumbo jumbo to bring Rogers back, but if Cap gets shot onscreen we can safely expect him to either die or be sufficiently wounded to be out of action for a while. Crossbones may be the one to shoot Rogers in Mark Millar's story, and in fact we already know that Frank Grillo is reprising that character for a scrap with Cap in Civil War, but is he a big enough character to pull the trigger on the First Avenger? I doubt it. Grillo himself has said that he won't be appearing much in Civil War, so it would make far more sense for Bucky to be the one to end his old friend's long and lonely existence. Baron Zemo is set to appear in an unknown capacity so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he will brainwash Bucky once again and cause him to kill his friend, robbing The Winter Soldier of the redemption he was heading towards.
