Captain America: Civil War - 8 Characters Who Will Be Totally Different
2. Steve Rogers
The sole thing that anybody who has seen an MCU movie can agree on, despite the divisive nature of the movies, is this: Steve Rogers is the consummate good guy of the Avengers. He stands for truth, justice, freedom and the American way, holding the volatile team of Earths mightiest heroes together with his goodness and wholesomeness. The only thing is, a war does tend to get ugly on both sides. While Tony Stark is oversimplified as the villain of Civil War, were probably going to see the good Captain abandon some of his scruples in order to commandeer one side no matter how righteous of the conflict. The Winter Soldier was an excellent buildup to this side of Rogers, but his rebellion against S.H.I.E.L.D in the name of freedom meant less when taking into account it was actually HYDRA that he took down. One of the most exciting prospects of Civil War is to see what Captain America is truly capable of: instead of just doing truth and justice lip service, in this installment, we get to hopefully see Cap make some difficult and ugly choices to stand for those morals, even if it means standing against his own friends and teammates. Thus far, the MCU has had, understandably, little in the way of grey-area morality to really explore this aspect of Steves character, meaning that were definitely going to see him in a different light in the upcoming movie not to mention, of course, persistent rumours (despite contradictory contract information) of the Captain America mantle being passed down to another hero.
