Captain America: Civil War - 9 Major Concerns From The New Trailer
2. It All Looks Very Humourless
Every other superhero movie that gets announced nowadays, with the exception of, like, Ant-Man, tends to get plastered with labels of: "It's too dark!" or "It's too serious!" before it even gets released in theatres. People concerned that, you know, we're all taking caped crime-fighters way too seriously and that going super dark is just not suitable nowadays. Whilst those kinds of tags aren't really helpful, nor do they do much good when people are talking about a film that hasn't even been unveiled yet, Captain America: Civil War does look tad humourless, doesn't it? Captain America acting po-faced is one thing, but an entire movie that seems to exist in some kind of solemn Marvel void... is it really necessary? The plot driving Civil War was always going to result in a somewhat grave tone, of course, but was anybody else expecting something with a little more vibrancy? Not a outright comedy or a tale of two superhero buddies working out their differences in a light-hearted way, but still... a movie that was colourful and bright and exciting at its core? There's barely one joke in the new Civil War trailer. It's about the most unsmiling and dour trailer ever made - more so than Batman V Superman, even. Now that's a feat, huh?
