Captain America: Civil War Ending - 12 Big Implications For Phase 3

3. Cap Has No Shield, Bucky No Arm

They might not have actually been disassembled, but the end of Civil War wasn't far off leaving the Avengers in bits.

Though he wasn't killed off, Captain America's surrender of his iconic shield was a hell of a symbolic moment (just as Bucky's arm being removed - as a sign of his oppression as Winter Soldier - was similarly important). Cap is now operating without his single greatest weapon, and it seems likely that we might see Steve Rogers operating in Infinity War (at least at the start) without a Captain America costume entirely.

After all, just as the Winter Soldier was a Soviet/HYDRA symbol, Cap is a government construct, and it would be remarkably strange for Rogers to adopt not only a symbol of his own oppression but also a hugely recognisable costume while he's in hiding.

So it wouldn't' be too much of a stretch to see Steve Rogers appearing throughout Phase 3 in civilian threads.
