Captain America: Civil War - Every Character Ranked From Worst To Best

1. Spider-Man

He might not have entirely the most convincing reason for joining Team Iron Man (beyond "he asked" it's hard to fathom why he really agrees unless it's for a better suit), but Tom Holland's Spider-Man is easily the Civil War MVP.

As Peter Parker he's a slightly awkward, but mostly confident geek with a penchant for repurposing tech and a burning desire to show off his powers that is tethered by a need to appear completely "normal". He's genuinely torn by the need to do his homework when Iron Man recruits him, and you immediately get a sense of his defining conflict.

Then as Spider-Man, he's everything comic book fans have ever asked for. His cockiness feels authentic (when Tobey Maguire did it, it felt forced), he's hilarious and the effects work that's gone into his web-slinging and swinging is breath-taking.

You really have to give it to the Russos - as well as the myriad requirements they had to tie up the Cap trilogy and set up for Infinity War, selling Spidey before his 2017 solo movie so well was a bloody masterstroke.
