4. The Teams Have Been Revealed

Shaping the entirety of Civil War is the fact that the superheroes are going to be split into two distinct teams, Rogers vs Stark. Although we've already had a look at them via some promo material, there's real confirmation of the line-ups here, which is going to have a major bearing on the plot of this film. It's clear that Black Widow and War Machine are going to be taking Stark's side, while Black Panther is at least fighting against Bucky even if he has no interest in the war between Iron Man and Cap. Meanwhile, we see Falcon, Bucky, Hawkeye, and Scarlet Witch all lining-up next to Steve Rogers. Based on the teams as seen in the trailer, you'd say the odds are in the latter's favour, however it's not as clear-cut as that. We don't appear to get a look at Ant-Man (although he could be in-shot somewhere, just shrunken down) or Sharon Carter, both of whom are believed to be on Cap's team, while interestingly there's no appearance of the Vision, who'll be on Team Stark (not surprising given he used to be his butler). It's strange that they're keeping those back, given we have already seen them in other films, but I guess it's good we aren't getting everything at once. In terms of the plot, this means that it's far more than just Steve and Tony having their friendship destroyed. There's Falcon and War Machine, Cap and Romanoff, and most notably her and Hawkeye, the two closest friends we've seen in the MCU so far. The war is going to tear all of these apart, and then have them punch each other in the face and the heart.
