10. War Machine

War Machine has almost been at it as long as Iron Man; nowadays, James "Rhodey" Rhodes feels like one of the longest-standing superheroes in the MCU, and that's because - quite simply - he is. And you can't write the guy off as anything other than reliable. War Machine has appeared in a whole bunch of MCU movies, and is about as competent in his role as Iron Man's less popular "sidekick" as you might except from such a frequent flyer. War Machine's gear means that he's a force to be reckoned with, of course. His heavily-armed suit makes him slower than Iron Man, but whenever he turns up it's like you've got an entire army battalion on your doorstep, ready to strike - and then some. As with some of the other MCU characters, War Machine alternates between being indispensable and occasionally unnecessary. But he packs a huge punch, no doubt.
