Captain Marvel: 10 Biggest Changes From The Comics
4. The Kree-Skrull War
In Captain Marvel, the Kree-Skrull war was depicted as more of a slaughter of the latter species, with the supposedly 'noble-warrior-hero' people seeking to eradicate them from the galaxy - despite how, at least for the faction of Skrulls we met, they just wanted to find a new home, and escape the devastation of the conflict.
This is somewhat different to the version seen in the comics, with both sides being a lot more evenly matched than the on-screen incarnation.
Another massive alteration to this particular set of battles was how much it involved Earth, with the Avengers, Fantastic Four and Inhumans ending up being tied up in the event - due to how Ronan The Accuser wanted to scorch the planet in order to use it as a base of operations against the Skrulls, something that the heroes inevitably stopped.
Meaning that, in essence, the Kree-Skrull war in the movie is really its own story, with the Carol Danvers, Mar-Vell, Nick Fury, the Supreme Intelligence and Ronan really being the only characters that were featured in both incarnations - though in completely different ways to that of the comic - but it worked, so it would be unfair to complain.
