Captain Marvel: 10 Biggest Changes From The Comics
3. Monica Rambeau
In Marvel Comics, there have been several characters to take up the mantle of Captain Marvel, though it may surprise those of you who don’t read the comics to hear that the first woman to do so was Monica Rambeau.
You see, in the books, Rambeau is a hero on a similar level to Carol Danvers herself with Monica being the Captain all the way back when Danvers was still using the Ms. Marvel moniker – making her arguably a much larger part of the House of Ideas’ history than the now world famous, Brie Larson portrayed hero.
In comparison, Monica’s on-screen depiction is rather lacklustre, with the character filling the role of the comics’ Kit – that being a young girl who’s very close to Carol due to their mothers being friends and the one that Danvers nicknames Lt. Trouble.
