12. The Bad Effects

There is a lot to admire about the Captain Marvel visuals and some of the effects work is absolutely incredible. For instance, you'll very quickly forget that Samuel L jackson has been deaged because it's so seamless. And most of the action sequences (and indeed the origin moment) look insanely good.

But that isn't the case for ALL of the effects sequences. Some, including most of the sequences where Marvel has clearly been fully rendered - like the space-set sequences - and the unnecessary repeated shots of her hair with "underwater-style" anti-gravity look are not great at all. What makes it worse is that some of those shots include close-ups of the rendered Carol's face, which makes it very obvious that it's all about the same quality as Superman's top lip in Justice League.

For something to be so good and then let down by what looks like unfinished or just under-cooked effects at times is just s major shame.
