7. Ronan Says "I'll Get You Next Time" But Clearly Doesn't

Right at the end of the film, Captain Marvel basically intimidates Ronan and his fellow Accusers so much that they turn on their heels and run away, in fear of being destroyed. That's probably where his story should have ended, since he added absolutely nothing to the film and didn't need to be revived at all given how little he's given to do, but instead we get a sequel set-up thanks to his "I'll be back" style parting comment.

Now, this could work in a sequel as we could see him chasing Captain Marvel as she tries to find the Skrulls and get them to a new sanctuary and it could even tie in with the fall of the Kree as mentioned in Guardians of The Galaxy (the reason for Ronan's vengeful bloodlust, remember). But we already know that it's going to end in failure again.

There's absolutely no weight to his threat because we already know that outcome. It's demonstably clear that he didn't stop Marvel and that he didn't stop the fall of the Kree. He's a loser, baby, he just doesn't know it yet.
