When you look at Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury throughout his many appearances in the MCU, you probably see a number of things. You see a leader, a mentor, an elder statesman of the franchise who is as regal as he is reliable. You see the Avengers Initiative's rock, its founder and its grandfather all rolled into one.

You'll see his badass moments, from stepping out of the shadows in Tony Stark's home over a decade ago to escaping The Winter Soldier and shooting a teeanger in the neck with a dart gun. You'll see him getting sh*t done, you'll see him inspiring some of the universe's most powerful figures and chastising them at times, you'll see him being an icon, in other words.

What you probably won't see him as is the guy who takes the first opportunity in an alien autopsy to lift up the covers and catch himself a look at some extraterrestrial penis. But now, thanks to Captain Marvel, you will.
