Captain Marvel: 9 MCU Loose Ends It Answers

"Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye..."

This line from The Winter Soldier finally has resolution, though probably not how we'd have expected. Captain Marvel had us guessing right until the end how Fury would loose his left peeper, and even threw in a red herring along the way.

It's fair to say that nobody saw it coming. Scratched by an alien cat was definately not the harrowing backstory that many fans were hoping for, though anecdotally, it is quite an amusing resolve.

Either way, the Winter Soldier trust reference plays out. Fury had some heartwarming bonding sessions with the feline beast prior to the incident. But even though he'd seen how deadly the creature could be, he still decided to get up close and personal, to disastrous effect.

So you could say that Goose served as a faithful reminder to Fury of how affection could be misplaced. The wilder theorists among us could even state that Goose's scratching of Fury's eye was the implementation of a life lesson, done fully with the intent to make Nick a wiser person in the long run.

Or maybe Goose just grew annoyed at Fury's endless pampering.
