3. Guardians Of The Galaxy

Lee Pace's Ronan ends up emerging from Captain Marvel worse for wear, just as he did in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. It's slightly disappointing, but it's clear there's still more left to do with the character, and perhaps even something Marvel could look to explore in the years in between Captain Marvel and the events of the first Guardians movie.

So, Captain Marvel actually sets up two separate things to do with Ronan. First we're left with a tease that he'll return for Danvers - which must happen prior to the events of Guardians of the Galaxy - and then second, we're actually given a tease of how Korath the Pursuer joined Ronan's ranks.

Korath appears in the first Guardians as one of Ronan's minions, and is eventually killed during the final battle over Xandar. In Captain Marvel, he appears as a member of Starforce, and though Yon-Rogg thinks even he is too radical, it seems as though Korath admires him. When Ronan asks their location while searching for Danvers, Korath very nearly replies, only for Rogg to cut him off before he can reveal anything incriminating.

Was this a mystery that had to be explained? Probably not, and even though Ronan was fairly useless yet again, the possibility is there if Marvel wish to explore him some more.
