3. This Is Probably Carol Getting Her Powers

A shot near the end of the trailer shows what appears to be Carol being caught in a bright blue explosion, which is most likely the flashback sequence where she earns her superpowers.

It remains to be seen if her film origins will stick stringently to her comic book genesis - unlikely, admittedly - but given the possibility here that her DNA is permanently altered after coming into contact with Kree material, it doesn't seem to be straying all that far.

Considering that directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have already confirmed that the film won't be a conventional origin story, it's quite probable this flashback won't occur until pretty late in the movie.
