Captain Marvel Trailer 3 Reactions: 5 Ups & 2 Downs

3. The Spoiler Resistance

Usually, when you get to this sort of stage in the marketing process, studios are just wilfully ruining their entire plot in the interest of generating as much attention for their movie as possible to sell as many tickets as they can. Marvel films have got to the extended preview stage and just outright ruined things previously and it gets frustrating when you have to actively avoid seeing things to not have key plot points ruined.

But with Captain Marvel, because the trailer cutters are choosing to focus the narrative around footage we've seen before (hence the old lady taking three kickings so far), there's a lot we don't know about the film. We don't know who Jude Law really is, we don't know much about the background of the Kree/Skrull war, we don't know the mysteries that Danvers herself wrestles with, we don't know what role Ronin will play or how SHIELD will come into contact with Marvel.

Most of the details - including anything about Ben Mendehlson's villain - remain locked down and that's a big plus.
