6. Is Jude Law REALLY Playing Mar-Vell?

One of the most interesting things about Captain Marvel has, so far, been deciphering the true identity of Jude Law's character. At the moment all we know is that he's the leader of Starforce and a mentor to Carol, but fans have been quick to say that he's actually someone much more important - Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel in the comics.
While the true identity of Law's character is still uncertain, the one shot we see of him in the trailer shows him in obvious distress. If he is to be the one who mentors Carol among Starforce, then this would surely imply that he's complicit in her wiped memory too, which would suggest a pretty drastic change in personality for a character who was, at one point in time, one of Marvel's biggest heroes.
In any case, we can expect to learn more of Law's character's intentions as more material gradually makes its way into the public realm. For now, however, we must rest assured knowing that he's a member of Starforce, and has a significant relationship with Carol as a result.
