Captain Marvel Trailer: 5 Huge Plot Hints

3. Nick Fury And Phil Coulson Will Team Up

Captain Marvel Energy Blasts

Phil Coulson might have been relegated to the Marvel TV department after The Avengers, but he's making a comeback. Or rather, rewind... It's set in the past. Don't get us wrong, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been great so far but it'll be great to see Clark Gregg on the big screen once again. He's also been given the same de-ageing treatment as Samuel L. Jackson, and the pair seem more like S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in their prime rather than the grizzled veterans they are in the present.

It looks as if Coulson is arriving in the same place that Carol crashed in and where Fury is looking for her. Whether they'll be on the same mission or not is another question entirely, since their introduction was previously described by Clark Gregg as their "meet-cute".

We know they'll get on well otherwise Coulson wouldn't be tasked by Fury with his adventures recruiting the Avengers later down the line. So hopefully we get to see the duo team-up to fight the Skrulls and maybe even the Kree, since we don't know if they'll necessarily be the good guys here either. Their exploits in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have been anything but kind - especially in the most recent season.
