Captain Marvel Trailer: 5 Huge Plot Hints

Not familiar with Secret Invasion? That's okay, here's a quick recap. The Skrulls kidnap many of Earth's mightiest heroes, putting them in cryo-storage. By using their own shapeshifting ability, the Skrulls take the kidnapped heroes places. Although it turns out they've actually infiltrated every level of every government on the planet and stage a worldwide coup. The Skrulls most iconic skill is being able to shape-shift, so we'd be surprised if Marvel didn't heavily lean into that.

But also, why else would Captain Marvel punch an old lady in the face on the train? Especially looking so angry as she does it. Maybe the old lady insulted Captain Marvel's cat, Chewie. (Who coincidentally is on the latest poster that they just released, he's on the bottom left hand side). But if that was a Skrull A.K.A. an enemy combatant, then it makes sense that Carol would react violently.

But if that's where Marvel are going with this, and the Skrulls are attempting to secretly invade the planet - who else have they already managed to replace that we don't know about? If there's any members of the Avengers that have been replaced, it would be an interesting way of saving them from Thanos' snap during Avengers: Infinity War.
