Captain Marvel Trailer Review: 9 Ups & 2 Downs
4. De-Aged Nick Fury
Samuel L Jackson is a pretty ever-green guy and he's looked pretty much the same for the past two decades, but even he would struggle to look like he'd stepped out of the 90s without a little assistance. And honestly, there were some concerns when the film's setting was announced and it seemed we might have to see him digitally de-aged in the vein of Rogue One's... unfortunateness.
But Jackson looks incredible.
Whoever has worked their magic on him deserves an Oscar because he doesn't even look like he's been de-aged - which is always a bit of a thing when it comes to this approach that you just have to subconsciously accept. He looks like he's genuinely 20 plus years younger. In fact, he looks about 35, which is astonishing for a man who is 69 years old.
He's clearly been getting his vitamins and considering how much he's going to be involved in this film (by the look of it anyway), his look being that organically convincing is definitely a good thing.
