Casting A Live Action Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood Movie
19. Tim Marcoh - Bryan Cranston
On the surface, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood might seem like a complex plot that has a bunch of intertwining storylines. However, the one thing everyone has an interest in is the creation of a real Philosopher's stone and we're not talking about the bootleg kind used by Father Cornello.
Tim Marcoh, the lead researcher behind the creation of the Philosopher's Stone, is a conflicted and tortured soul who is an integral part of the story. Although he obviously won't get as much screen time as the show's main characters, whoever plays him is going to need to be able to convey the same level of regret that American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer had for being known as the father of the atomic bomb.
Whether he's in a main or supporting role, Emmy-award winning actor, Bryan Cranston, has proven himself to be one of the finest actors of his generation. From making us fall in love with drug kingpin, Walter White to his underrated performance as Jack O'Donnell in Argo, Cranston has shown that he's got plenty of range as an actor.
With a character like Marcoh who is filled with remorse about his past sins, yet a determined attitude to repent for them, we could definitely see the 64-year old sinking his teeth into a small, yet integral role like this.
