Casting Ava DuVernay's New Gods

Thanks to Tom King and Mitch Gerads' recent book, Mister Miracle is the face of the New Gods now more than ever - so there is little doubt that this character will be central to the upcoming film, especially with King now confirmed to be co-writing the movie.

As such, it might be a better idea for DC to cast someone less known, so that the character is seen as Mister Miracle rather than the actor playing them - and a great pick in this regard would be Robert Sheehan.

The actor most famously appeared in Netflix's Umbrella Academy - being easily the most enjoyable element of that show. Though, while his character in that, Klaus, may have been far more laid back and comedic than the bleak character most now know Mister Miracle as, that role also showed the actor's talent at presenting as tortured minds as that of Scott Free - making him a fantastic choice to play the hero.

Sheehan's Klaus was a rather bubbly personality, but the actor brought vast amounts of emotion to the character when necessary - therefore making it possible for him to play practically any version of Mister Miracle well, no matter the tone.
