Casting The Live Action Attack On Titan Movie

Although Eren Yeager is the show's main protagonist, there is one clear favourite character and that's Captain Levi Ackerman. Whoever takes on the role is going to be heavily scrutinized by AOT fans, if only because he's such a uniquely badass character.

Levi is like Attack on Titan's version of Wolverine from the X-Men. Although he's tiny compared to other members of the Survey Corps, he's by far their most dangerous warrior. The person playing Ackerman needs to put fear into his soldiers with just a look, have the snarkiness and bluntness to keep his team in check and be believable when it comes to action scenes.

Not only does Dane DeHaan look similar to Levi, he also possesses the sort of quiet rage that helped make Levi such a loved and fascinating character. Although not physically intimidating, he has a death stare that could strike fear in the soldiers he's leading.

Starring in the very underrated Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, DeHaan already has plenty of experience in action flicks too, so it shouldn't be too much of an adjustment for him to get into this role.
