1. It's One Of The Worst Musical Adaptations EVER

Make no mistake, Cats is one of the worst movie adaptations of a hit musical ever, and probably the very worst ever attempted at this price point and scale.

Almost every creative choice is the wrong one, the visual design is a ridicule-worthy disaster, and it doesn't even seem to understand what made the musical so successful in the first place.

Though there are certainly more tedious and unimaginative big-screen musical adaptations, so much of the film's creative energy was evidently poured into doing all the wrong things.

Yet as bad as Cats might be, it's not without a few meritorious aspects...
