Chris Evans talks CAPTAIN AMERICA costume & shield!

Remember when we went into a frenzy a little while back when supposed "leaked images" of Captain America and Thor were posted online? We haven't heard an official word from Marvel studio's on the leak (though we are pretty sure they are legit), but Cap himself - Chris Evans, has now spoken to Empire about the costume he'll don, and how he had to try out a variety of the ever-famous American shields;
"It€™s an amazing costume. Given the fact that his costume is red, white and blue, and it€™s tight, and it could be kind of flash and over the top €“ and given the fact that the movie takes place in the €˜40s and €˜50s €“ they€™ve done a really good job of making it look really cool." "I think everyone that€™s going to see it is going to say, 'Okay, well done. Well done. I think they got the costume right. The casting they completely ruined, but the costume they nailed!'"
So now we know what the man thinks about his costume, but what about the more important aspect to Captain America; his shield? The shield to the American patriot is what adamantium claws are to Wolverine, so what does Evans have to say about the all-famous boomerang-like weapon that was used to target Nazi heads?
€œWe€™ve been testing a lot of shields. Last time I was in London they had six shields and I had to hold each one, see if I was comfortable with each one, see which one we all thought had the right look. The thing is pretty heavy, so I€™m not sure I can throw it that far! I€™ll give it my best shot, but hopefully they€™ll have some sort of stunt shield when it comes to actually chucking it!€
All of a sudden now I'm hyped about this movie. Marvel haven't been perfect with their recent output (we are consciously finger-pointing Iron Man 2) but they're far, far better than most of the movies produced by other studios that have optioned the rights to Marvel's arsenal (Sony, Fox, etc). So what do you think? Does Evans know what he's talking about? Are you liking the new suit? Captain America steps into cinemas summer 2011.
