Interstellar made Paramount and Warner Bros a worldwide gross of over $675 million from a production budget of $165 million. It wouldnt be too surprising, then, if the studio heads were trying to encourage Christopher Nolan to make a sequel. It wouldnt be entirely impossible, either. In fact, within the film itself, further adventures are teased. Specifically, its suggested that Matthew McConaugheys Cooper will return to space travel in order to locate Anne Hathaways Brand, having completed his original mission by saving mankind and reuniting with Murph. Could that aforementioned June 2017 Warner Bros release date be Interstellar 2, then? Its doesnt seem hugely likely, as that would be a fairly quick turnaround for a film of Interstellars scale, but that doesnt mean it might not happen at some point in the future, though. It is teed up, for a possibility for life to carry on, McConaughey told IGN back in 2014. Nolan himself, though, has kept quiet on the matter. He hasnt made a sequel to any of his non-Batman films so far, but never say never in Hollywood.
