8. Bride Wars
It's fair to say that every actor has their share of hits and misses on the way to the top, and Chris Pratt's list of misses in particular features a high proportion of romantic comedies. Best known of these is Bride Wars which sees Pratt as Anne Hathaway's fiancé, although the part isn't as big as you may think. Straining the definition of a buddy movie, it focuses on the relationship between two newly engaged best friends/arch enemies, but this can only be seen as an advantage in that it gives Pratt a chance to show how much he can do with so little. In fact we see a different Fletcher in each of his handful of his appearances; he goes through romantic, hard working, and playful, until his unfortunate angry and controlling side comes out. Despite these opposing aspects, at no point do we find any point of his portrayal unbelievable. Even having seen him at Fletcher's worst, Pratt still finds room to make him a sympathetic character when he is eventually left at the altar. Although it's fair that the film isn't better remembered, Pratt's performance obviously didn't get overlooked considering what else it lead to.
