2. Destro - G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)
When you're featured in a movie called "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and you're playing a character called "Destro," it's presumed that you didn't take on the role because you were planning to win a ton of awards or anything. So whether or not Christopher Eccleston took a part in the first G.I. Joe movie because he just need the cash or because he genuinely thought it might turn out to be a good movie doesn't really matter - what matters is that he's in the movie. So how does he fare? Well, rather badly to be entirely frank. But what did we expect from G.I. Joe? As Destro, Eccleston provides a forgettable villain for much of the movie's first half, a weapons supplier intent on ruling the world. Is he doing bad acting here? It's hard to tell, given the subject matter and the bizarre accent that he adopts for much of his screentime - is that supposed to be a Brooklyn accent? What is that accent, Chris? The role, of course, is way beneath the actor... and it doesn't help that his face is encased in a layer of metal for most of the film. I'd like to say that he plays it with some self-awareness, but I'm not entirely sure that he does.
