Christopher Nolan’s Atomic Bomb Movie: Every Detail You Need To Know

2. It's Got A Blockbuster-Level Budget

The budget of the Oppenheimer project obviously won't be finalised until Nolan reaches a deal with a studio, but according to Variety, it's likely going to cost over $100 million.

For comparison, that's around the same price tag as Nolan's Dunkirk, an action-heavy blockbuster released in a prime summer slot. The Oppenheimer project doesn't sound like it'll be action-heavy at all, so what's with the high price?

Well, it could be for many reasons. Nolan himself is a costly hire, and then you have to factor in the long line of movie stars he'll probably bring along. He also likes to shoot things practically, and a lavish period piece about nuclear bombs is definitely going to cost a pretty penny to get right.

There might even be a few scenes set on the battlefields of World War II, upping the film's action quota and making it worthy of that prime summer slot Nolan's movies often feature in.
