Christopher Nolan’s Atomic Bomb Movie: Every Detail You Need To Know

1. It's A Drama Aimed At Older Audiences

On the subject of whether or not the Oppenheimer project will release in the summer, here's a piece of information that seems to indicate it won't.

Variety describes the movie as "a drama aimed at adults", marking Nolan's first return to this space since 2006's excellent The Prestige.

Ever since that flick - which was budgeted at $40 million, by the way - Nolan's movies have been spectacle-laden blockbusters, so it's actually quite exciting that he's going to be scaling things back again.

On the downside, this does make the movie less marketable, and considering its high budget, some studios will consider the package a huge risk. But if there's any filmmaker who can sell a $100 million, theatrical-exclusive drama, then it's Nolan.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
