Comic Book Movies: 5 Great Villains And 5 That Were Awful

2. Blackheart (Wes Bentley)

The Ghost Rider movies have been pretty damn awful in general, but the most disappointing thing about them - by far - is the horrible depictions of the villains. Blackheart, in particular, tore all of the rulebooks to shreds. Bentley himself does not make a good villain - he just isn't intimidating enough - but what they did with the actual character should be illegal. In the comics, Blackheart is a massively powerful demon who looks like a demon should look - monstrous. In the film, he looks like an emo teenager. In the comics, Blackheart can warp the very reality around him, he has telekinetic and telepathic abilities, the ability to manipulate vast amounts of dark magic and superhuman physical attributes. In the movie, he pokes you with his finger and shrivels you up. It was wrong on so many levels and whoever thought it would work should be... well... poked in the chest until they shrivel. Quote: "There's an old saying, don't raise more demons than you can lay down. My father raised one too many."
