Comissioner Gordon Hires Bane & His Brothers In THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD!

There's a cool story breaking tonight over at The Hollywood Reporter that has my mind racing with excitement at the image of Commissioner Gordon and the new Bane going toe-to-toe with each other in a movie before The Dark Knight Rises begins filming in May. You see John Hillcoat, the measured director of The Proposition and The Road, is currently in the midst of putting together an eclectic cast for The Wettest County in the World, the Nick Cave scripted (and will be composed) adaptation of Matt Bundrant's 1930's set prohibition era novel that begins shooting February 28th. The latest thesp to have jumped on board the powerhouse ensemble film is the chameleon Gary Oldman who it was revealed will play a gangster in the film who employs a trio of brothers (Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke) to run a bootlegging gang but find their moonshine dynasty in Franklin County, Virginia threatened by the authorities wanting a cut. Also on board this awesome cast is Jessica Chastain as Hardy's red-head love interest Maggie and Mia Wasikowska as the gal of LaBeouf. Sorry Clarke, no women for you just yet. Excitedly, Hillcoat is also bringing along his lucky charm, Guy Pearce, to play the part of a violent deputy. A first-rate cast if there ever was one - but it's Tom Hardy's part in this which has me the most excited. He is said to be playing the middle brother of the trio who is described as €œa batshit crazy drunk with a feverish, grinning zest for violence and getting into trouble.€ Like he did in Inception, Hardy has the showy, stand-out part. Can't wait to see what he does with it.
