Craig says more humor in Bond 22 & Bond 23 for 2010 release?

As long as it doesn't become a joke of itself, then I'm happy for a few more gags.

Casino Royale, the grittiest and meanest James Bond film in the history of cinema went down with critics, the last direction we expected the currently untitled Bond 22 to go in was the 'humor' direction. Now before I get too carried away, that's not exactly what lead star Daniel Craig has told The Daily Express but he admits more gags are what the producers want...

€œThey just want more gags. The next one€™s going to be a lot funnier. Octopussy and Pussy Galore style gags.€
Wow, more of the classic Bond jokes is completely what Casino Royale was trying to get away from. They succeeded with that and audiences seemed to really dig it, so it really doesn't seem to make any sense to go back to what many people perceive to be the tired and prehistoric version of the character. Personally, speaking as a fan or the more traditional Bond movie, I'm all for it. That type of humor when cleverly written (Goldfinger is obviously the perfect example of this) enhances the Bond movie to a level that other spy flicks (Mission Impossible, Bourne Series) will never reach. More news on Bond today and the word from Variety is that a 2010 release date is planned for Bond 23, which will be Daniel Craig's third outing as 007. It looks like they are going back to the old trend of a Bond movie every 2 years which although they are profitable movies at the moment, it's a very dangerous game as over-saturation or one bad movie... can change everything. Still they probably want to milk Daniel Craig's Bond for as many movies as they can before he begins to age.
