Star Trek prequel has been the biggest rumour talk of 2006, and more fuel will no doubt be added to the fire after his latest comments to
Sci-Fi Wire. This is what he said...
If the script was good, I'd do it. Granted it's probably what any actor says for any potential film but I guess it does tell us that he would have no problems stepping into
William Shatner's shoes. As
Cinema Blend points out then... The director wants Damon, Shatner has expressed his approval for Damon and now he himself has said he wants in. All that is needed is a good script, which the last we heard of was going through some teething problems and has delayed production on the movie somewhat. Damon in Star Trek, hell yeah! I would prefer he was playing a brand new captain set after the Picard years but if they are hell-bent on doing a Kirk prequel, then I can think of no-one better to play Shatner's role. source -
