With last month bringing word that Charlie Cox had reportedly signed on to appear as Daredevil in Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home follow-up, now comes a further update on any appearance from Cox’s Guardian Devil.

Adding further credence to those stories of Daredevil’s involvement in this to-be-titled Spider-flick, ComicBook.com is reporting that Charlie Cox has now been spotted on the set of this upcoming MCU offering.

For this movie – which we’ll simply refer to as Spider-Man 3 from here on out – Daredevil isn’t the only familiar face expected to join Tom Holland’s Wall-crawler.

With Jamie Foxx confirmed to be picking up his The Amazing Spider-Man 2 role of Electro, and Alfred Molina likewise reprising his Doctor Octopus role from Spider-Man 2, the belief is that Holland’s Spider-Man will be joined in battle by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s iteration of ol’ Web-head.

Similarly, there are rumours that Kirsten Dunst’s Mary-Jane Watson, Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy and Paul Giamatti’s Rhino could all have a role to play in Spider-Man 3 – with the confirmed inclusion of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange bringing the multiverse concept to the table.

As for Charlie Cox, his Daredevil was given three impressive seasons of his own Netflix show, while he was also a part of the on-demand streaming service’s The Defenders crossover series.

It was always known that Daredevil and its fellow Netflix shows – Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher – took place in the backdrop of the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it now looks as if we’re finally going to see Hornhead on the silver screen MCU landscape.

If Daredevil does indeed appear in Spider-Man 3, that obviously then opens up the possibility of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, Finn Jones’ Iron Fist, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and even Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin making big-screen appearances down the line.

To be directed once more by Jon Watts, Spider-Man 3 is currently set for a 17 December 2021 release.
