DC Extended Universe: 10 Major New Rumours You Need To Know

6. Warner Bros. Might Turn To Christian Bale If Michael Keaton Turns Them Down

Recently, the trades reported that Michael Keaton is in early talks with Warner Bros. to reprise the role of the Caped Crusader seen in Batman and Batman Returns for The Flash. In that, the Scarlet Speedster will travel back in time to save his mother, changing the DCEU's timeline in the process, and returning to a world where Keaton's Batman will have spent the past thirty years protecting Gotham City.

DCEU Mythic has shared a pretty hard to believe rumour which claims that if the talks between Warner Bros. and Keaton don't pan out, the studio is hoping to cast The Dark Knight Trilogy's Christian Bale. However, it's noted that there are no plans to approach Ben Affleck about a possible return as Batman.

This is beyond hard to believe, especially as Bale has made it clear on countless occasions that he would only consider returning as Bruce Wayne if director Christopher Nolan was involved. It seems like wishful thinking in all honesty (on the part of Warner Bros. and fans), and if Keaton does turn them down, then going with the Thomas Wayne version of Batman might be the smartest possible move.
