Another solo outing for Superman is not a question of if, but when, as the film has seemingly been a priority for Warner Bros. over the last few years. Now that Batman v Superman is out of the way and the world of the DCEU has opened up a bit, the character himself will return in next year's Justice League before his fellow teammates all go their own way for a while before reuniting again in 2019.
Like a few of the projects on the DCEU slate, the lack of details about the film can be frustrating for fans who have been anticipating a direct sequel to Man of Steel since its release back in 2013, but certainly the events of Justice League will illuminate the character's future a little bit more to give them something to chew on about where his story can go.
Hopefully, the sequel - whenever it does get around to happening - can truly let loose in bringing to life some Superman villains fans have been waiting decades to see, like Brainiac or Metallo, instead of simply reusing Lex Luthor, and give the iconic hero the chance to shine again on his own without being forced to share screentime with other heroes.
