DC Extended Universe: Ranking Every Upcoming Film By Anticipation

8. Green Lantern Corps.

Green Lantern Annual #4
DC Comics

Release Date: June 19, 2020

Green Lantern in all his incarnations - Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Alan Scott, and so on - has earned a legion of well-deserved fans over the last 76 years since he first debuted.

Unfortunately, though, when the character made his long-awaited leap to the big screen back in 2011, giving mainstream audiences their first major exposure to Hal Jordan, the brand took a hit in the public eye when the film failed to take off.

Despite a few positives, like Mark Strong's Sinestro, the film was weighed down by too many negatives, ultimately misfiring and failing to capitalize on the character's massive creative potential, leaving comic and non-comic fans alike with a sour taste in their mouths. With the DCEU, Warner Bros. has been given the opportunity to try again via the 2020 reboot.

Unfortunately, being the furthest film out in the lineup, we know absolutely nothing about it yet, but its sheer potential is enough to start winding up excitement levels.

In terms of what it could do to make up for the 2011 failure and the sheer spectacle just waiting to be unleashed, the film could easily be one of the DCEU's most epic, entertaining, and visually stunning entries if done right, and with rumors suggesting a Green Lantern will appear in Justice League, hopefully we can get a tease of what to expect to see in 2020 before too long.
