With it now confirmed that every DC story - on the big screen or small one - is canon, albeit in their own universes, the door is open to a lot of unique stories. Hamada confirmed, for example, that The Batman takes place on its own Earth and not in the same continuity as Justice League.

Asked about telling more Elseworlds-style stories similar to last year's Joker, Hamada responded: "Our focus is telling great stories. If it would work as an Elseworld, we would do that. It's when the right filmmaker and the right story come together. The possibility is there. If we come across the right filmmaker with a great story that doesn't work within our existing timeline, we would explore it."

Unfortunately, it was at this point Hamada debunked a rumour that's been doing the rounds for a while now. Superman: Red Son, which follows a Man of Steel who landed in Russia instead of Smallville, is not happening. However, you have to believe the Michael B. Jordan Superman movie could now become a reality without affecting Henry Cavill's planned return as the Man of Steel.

Needless to say, the creation of this Multiverse just made the DCEU a whole lot more exciting...
