DC FanDome: 10 Major New Details About The Future Of The DCEU Revealed
DC FanDome exceeded all expectations, and the future of the DCEU is now clear...
DC FanDome may have been scaled down last week, but the online event certainly didn't disappoint last night. There were trailers, major announcements, and a tonne of hints about what's to come in the DC Extended Universe over the coming years.
The introduction of the DC Multiverse is clearly going to be a game-changer for this shared world, and while the DCEU has come nowhere near being a rival to the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the past few years, that now looks set to change. As bold a proclamation as that might seem, it's a statement impossible to disagree with after DC FanDome.
Wonder Woman 1984, The Flash, The Suicide Squad, Justice League: The Snyder Cut, Black Adam, Aquaman 2, Shazam! 2, and The Batman were all featured in a big way, and plans for each of those are clearer now than they ever have been before.
With that in mind, we're now taking a look at all the biggest new details which have been shared about the DCEU's future, including how The Batman spinoff coming to HBO Max ties into future plans for that franchise, the release format for Justice League, and a whole lot more besides. With so many new trailers, this information likely passed you by, but it's all legitimately unmissable...
10. Black Adam's Justice Society Of America
Cameras haven't started rolling on Black Adam yet, but Dwayne Johnson was on hand to share some concept art from the movie confirming that it takes place both 5000 years in the past and the present day. As well as showing the anti-hero's clash with The Wizard, the DC Extended Universe's version of the Justice Society of America was also revealed.
Surprisingly, it's not the massive roster from the comic books as the team will consist of Hawkman, Dr. Fate, and their new recruits Cyclone and Atom Smasher. The latter will be played by Noah Centineo, but there's no word on which actors will fill out the other three roles.
There are obviously some notable absences here, but it's possible that Hawkman and Dr. Fate are trying to bring the team back after they originally formed decades earlier. Regardless, it doesn't sound like they'll get on with Black Adam as Johnson promised that in the DCEU, it's now going to be all about "Truth, Justice, and the Black Adam way."
