Crisis on Infinite Earths was a television crossover event on The CW which ultimately ended with the creation of a new DC Multiverse. During the course of that, Grant Gustin's Flash met the one played by Ezra Miller in Justice League, and that exchange was confirmed as being canon during DC FanDome.

DC Films President Walter Hamada was on hand to explain how this Multiverse will work, and after DC TV boss Greg Berlanti teased more movie and TV show crossovers, Hamada noted: "It became the situation where fans just want to see the characters, you can have The Flash on TV and in movies, and, going forward, there are opportunities to do this and use the medium in ways we haven't before."

This means there's no longer going to be firm rules in place which stop certain characters appearing on television when they're earmarked for an upcoming movie, something that's hampered a lot of shows in recent years. Hamada even indicated that the events of Crisis is what created this new Multiverse!
