Earlier in the summer, it was confirmed that a currently untitled Gotham City Police Department series is in the works for the HBO Max streaming service. The Batman director Matt Reeves is developing the series with Boardwalk Empire's Terrence Winter, and it's now been confirmed that the show takes place during "Year One" of the Bruce Wayne's vigilante career.

During DC FanDome, the filmmaker revealed that his movie is a "Year Two" story, and that this TV show follows a cop battling corruption within the department. While that happens, the myth of the Dark Knight starts to build in the background, though it's unclear whether that means Robert Pattinson will be making any cameo appearances.

"You start to see the story from the point of view of these corrupt cops, one in particular," Reeves told fans tuning into the virtual event last night. "The Gotham PD series will go into the corruption of the Gotham Police Department...it goes back to Batman Year One...we'll see these characters from a perspective we've never seen before."
