5. Henry Cavill
The wait for a Henry Cavill-led Man of Steel sequel has been interminable. While Batman versus Superman: Dawn of Justice technically served as a continuation of Man of Steel, the feature focused much more on Ben Affleck's Batman than Cavill's Clark Kent. Both the 2017 Whedon Cut of Justice League and the Snyder Cut kept Cavill offstage for much of their runtimes.
Matthew Vaughn planned a sequel only to have it ultimately scrapped before Bad Robot announced in February of 2021 that J.J. Abrams will produce a Superman reboot with a black actor in the role of supes.
While the prospect of J.J. Abrams making a new superman played by a person of color is indeed exciting news, many fans still felt that Cavill got short-shrift. However, Abrams recently hinted that his superman won't necessarily be Clark Kent but another Kryptonian.
This leaves the door wide open for Cavill to reprise his role, especially with DC taking a multiverse approach to the DCEU; two versions of Superman could definitely coexist in the multiverse.
The fans must see Cavill at Fandome, preferably with some good news about Man of Steel 2 to deliver.
