DCEU: 10 Mistakes Warner Bros. Has Made With Its DC Slate

9. Rebooting Batman

Matt Reeves' take on Batman sounds really exciting (especially as he plans to delve into what makes the Caped Crusader the World's Greatest Detective), and it's going to be fun seeing what Robert Pattinson brings to the table as the iconic DC Comics hero. However, something we can't get on board with is this being a reboot.

We were never going to see Ben Affleck reprise the role after Justice League, but early reports that The Batman would be a prequel of sorts exploring Bruce Wayne's history in Gotham City were very exciting. Set photos have confirmed it's set in the present, though, and likely as standalone as Joker was.

There are reportedly zero plans for this Batman to be incorporated into the wider DCEU, and why would he have suddenly been de-aged and look completely different anyway? Reeves was once said to be writing The Batman for Affleck, so we're sure there were better ways to handle the Dark Knight's return to the big screen than this no matter how great the movie ends up being.
