DCEU: 7 Hints That Batman: Under The Red Hood Movie Is Coming

3. The Inevitable Return Of The Joker

As if Jared Leto would be doing one performance as the Joker and disappearing for ever...

That pretty unnecessary sting at the end of Suicide Squad was a pretty dumb tag-on, but it at least got Harley Quinn out of her cage for Sirens and it served another purpose: confirming that the Joker lives to fight another day.

When you think about Suicide Squad only as a background introduction for Mr J, his side-lining suddenly feels an awful lot more justified. He wasn't the main villain there simply because this was a warm up for the main event: this was no more than a few establishing shots to tease at his evil before he reappears.

Again, that could have been in The Batman, but Deathstroke has the billing there, and Justice League is already too busy, so it makes far more sense that he'll appear in Gotham City Sirens. And bringing Harley, Black Mask and the Joker together seems like an awfully big coincidence if Warner Bros aren't planning on pulling the trigger on Under The Red Hood.
