DCEU: 7 Hints That Batman: Under The Red Hood Movie Is Coming

2. Nightwing

The impending introduction of Nightwing to the DCEU might seem like an inevitable development in its own right, but his appearance is just as important to establish the Red Hood story, and he would arguably be a smarter hero for Gotham City Sirens/Under The Red Hood than Batman.

Nightwing's origin of course involves him and Batman falling out over their superhero methodology. Dick disagrees fundamentally with Batman's use of torture, and seeks a more moral form of combat, which of course massively contrasts Red Hood's brutal, uncompromising approach to crime fighting. They are two sides of the same coin, both trained by Batman, and both his creations: to have them meet would be symbolic and poetically loaded.

The Red Hood story would also explain the decision to skip Grayson as Batman in the DCEU, and would provide an opportunity to show his origin without having to do another look at his family dying. It would act like a backdoor origin, and launch the character before his own movie, and if Warner Bros haven't got this all planned already, they should get it done.
