Deadpool: 100 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References

16. Those Four Or Five Moments

When Colossus says people only get four or five moments to be a hero, he's actually making some meta commentary and just being cute. He may be referring to the fact that this is either his character's fourth metallic appearance, but fifth if you include a possible cameo in the first X-Men, but it's more likely addressed to Reynolds; this is his fourth or fifth attempt of making a comic book property work, depending on how you count it (he's previously starred in Blade: Trinity, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Green Lantern and R.I.P.D.).

15. Deadpool's Future With The X-Men Is Kept Purposely Vague

As Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead leave at the end, the prospect of Deadpool teaming up with the X-Men is left teasingly open. This is a sly bit of commentary on how the future of Deadpool as a movie character, and how he'll fit into the X-Men continuity going forward, is totally unclear at this moment. It may not seem like much now, but when we're on Deadpool 4: Wolverine's Back, it'll feel pretty astute.

14. Beast Sh*tting On Deadpool's Lawn

Colossus and Negasonic don't leave before Deadpool gets in one final crack in against the X-Men, asking them to tell Beast to stop sh*tting on his lawn. It's most likely just a jokey reference to Hank McCoy, but there's something utterly brilliant about the idea of Kelsey Grammar squatting outside Ryan Reynolds house. Plot for Deadpool 2?

13. Your Friendly Neighbourhood Pool Guy

At the very end of the film, as the camera moves out from a reunited Wade and Vanessa, taking in all the destruction, Deadpool signs off calling himself "your friendly neighbourhood Pool guy", a forcibly cringe-worthy last-minute nod to Spider-Man's classic description.
